The smartphone wars between major companies will be one to watch out for this year 2014, with several rumors and speculations suggesting that the two major smartphone giants, Sony and Apple, will be launching their next  much coveted smartphones, the Xperia Z2 and the iPhone 6 respectively. Although nothing has been confirmed on either of the phones by either company, rumors circulating on the internet seem to suggest that both phones could possibly release this year, with contrasting and similar specs.

Sony Xperia Z2 : Could it beat the iPhone 6?

This article highlights the comparison between the Sony Xperia Z2 and the Apple iPhone 6 based on online rumors and suggestions. So here goes.

1. Release date: According to speculations, the Xperia Z2 is all set to be launched pretty soon, in the MWC 2014 held in Barcelona, in February end 2014, whereas the iPhone 6 is reportedly going to release this year itself, but exactly when in 2014 is not known properly. Our guess is that it may launch by the end of this year.

2. Display: The Sony Xperia Z2 is expected to have a 5.2″ full HD screen, whereas the iPhone 6 will have a high quality 4.7″ retina display. Both Sony and Apple are well known for great displays on their phones, and so we say it’s going to be a tie in the display department.

3. Storage: The Xperia is expectedly going to come with a 64 GB internal memory with expandable SD card slot, whereas the iPhone 6 may surprise all by having a massive 128GB storage, with no further expansion capabilities.

4. Camera: Sony Xperia Z2 could come with a 25 MP camera, whereas the iPhone 6 could come equipped with a 13 MP sensor camera, if rumors are to believed.
